We will walk from here down along the original route of the medieval highway the Via Francigena used over the centuries by pilgrims and paupers, cardinals and kings on their way to and from Rome. The route takes us mainly along dirt roads.

Along the way we will be accompanied by the spectacular view of Lake Bolsena, the largest lake of volcanic origin in Europe formed after an eruption about 350,000 years ago. We will finish the walk in the medieval town of Bolsena which was built near the Etruscan town of Volsinii the remains of which can still be seen today.
